DRV8301-HC-C2-KIT: When using the FOC inductive control algorithm, the motor current will suddenly increase

Genius 3095 points

Part Number: DRV8301-HC-C2-KIT

Hi Yanming:

My project uses f28035 to cooperate with drv8301 for experiment and using FOC control algorithm.

When I use the FOC inductive control algorithm (with Hall sensor), the motor can run, but the current will suddenly increase after starting, and the motor will make a loud sound at this time, but the FOC non inductive control algorithm does not have this problem

May I ask why? How to improve?

Best regards

  • Sorry, it's very difficult to answer your question since I don't know the detailed FOC inductive control algorithm you mentioned, it seems like it's an algorithm designed by yourself. On this forum, we are able to support specific device-related and TI reference design questions. You might check current sensing, estimated/calculated angle, speed/current controllers step by step.
