TMDSCNCD28335: Compatible or suggested Socket

Part Number: TMDSCNCD28335
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28379D, TMDSCNCD28388D, TMDSCNCD280049C, TMDSCNCD280025C

Hello,

I am looking to layout a PCB that would use the TMDSCNCD28335 as a daughter card. I have found, and see from other posts that the TI TMDSDIM100CON5PK, TE Connectivity 5390213-1, Molex 87630-1001 are all obsolete and not avaiable.

Is there another DIM socket that TI recommends to use or another approach to make the TMDSCNCD28335 usable with PCBs other than the docking station provided by TI?

Thanks,

Chris

  • Chris,

If you are starting a new project I would encourage you to move to a newer device. They have more features and are at a similar cost point. in this case they also have the additional benefit of using more modern HSEC connectors which are readily available for purchase. I will link some similar tools below, of course the tools use the super-set device, but there are many cut down versions if you don't need all the features.

    Similar more modern devices:

    TMS320f2837x or TMS320F2807x families -  see TMDSCNCD28379D

    TMS320F2838x family - See TMDSCNCD28388D

    Lower cost devices:

    TMS320F28004x family- See TMDSCNCD280049C

    TMS320f28002x family- See TMDSCNCD280025C

Unfortunately the DIMM connectors are EOL. I have a contact at a company who can manufacture them and are willing to support small order for our customers. Please connect with me on E2E and I will direct message you their contact information if you still wish to go with this approach.

    Regards,
    Cody
