CCS: Double motor routine based on boost xl-3phganinv

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I am using 28379d to test the double motor routine based on boost xl-3phganinv. All the steps are based on the file spraco 3. I follow the following steps: e2e.ti.com/.../3294817 =1. Enable silicon real-time Mode " is ignored, but we can't get the waveform in" graph ", please give me some suggestions.

  • Hello,

Did you see Yanming's last post in the thread you referenced?

    Thanks

  • I see it, but I don't quite understand what it says about "remove the R20 on both bootxl-3phganinv boards, or disconnect j3-30 and j7-70 pinsto both bootxl-3phganinv boards."? I hope you can help me.

Another question: can I use this routine to control the stepper motor?

  • Without removing R20, I completely followed the file spaco 3 in the rest steps. Then I tested the dual motor routine (Level 1), and tested VA, VB and VC with an oscilloscope. The results showed that the following waveforms were measured, which should be wrong. When the inverter board is not connected for 28379d, I directly supply power to the inverter board, and then use an oscilloscope to measure the VA and VB wave shapes, which is also the figure below.Does this remove the effect of R20?

  • I don't know how to remove R20. Is it through software settings? I did not see the file "spaco 3" to indicate how to remove R20, please give me some suggestions, thank you.

  • I will move this thread to the device forum. The experts there can help you further.

  • 1. No. Removing R20 doesn't have an impact on the PWM output in level 1. The "Vref" signal on bootxl-3phganinv is connected to an ADC/DAC pin on LunchPad, so you have to remove the R20 since the on-chip DAC is used to monitor the signals as section 6.1.1.1 or 7.1.2 in the application note. The Vref will be changed and the current sensing will be not correct if the R20 is not removed. You might follow the application note and design guide to run the project, and to monitor the related output and sensing signals.

    2. No, this project is only for 3-phase PMSM with incremental encoder, it can't be used for stepper motor control. Both motor are totally used in different control methods.
