TMS320F2812: Question about manual SPRU065E

Genius 3095 points

Part Number: TMS320F2812

Dear team:

Is there any problem with the part of the manual I circled in red?

If the comparison value of the next period is 0, and it is highly effective, shouldn't the level be the same when the period is matched, and then the whole period is high level?

Best regards

  • Have you tried this and seen different results? This is a probably a question of event priority, but I suspect the diagram may be correct. That being said I would suggest setting this up and testing it.

  • Hi Cody:

    Thank you for your reply.

Compared with the PWM output of the GP timer, the PWM output of the Compare Unit is nothing more than a dead zone control. But you can see the asymmetric PWM output of this GP timer in the manual. For the case that the comparison register is 0, the logic between them is completely opposite.

    Best regards

  • I think you are correct. However, I would like to point out that the first signal in the second diagram is "active low" the the first signal on the first diagram is "active high". This will invert the signals.

Nevertheless, the first diagram shows the timer=0 event taking priority, and the second figure shows the GPtimer event taking priority. One of these figures is likely wrong for that reason. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Looking into the documentation further you can find the following description:

It seem that when Figure 2-4 was created the creator made a mistake. Thank you for the feedback.
