Hi All,

I am almost completed the custom design of TMS320F28379D board. I am planning to have an external XDS100 Ver 3. But I'm stuck about the JTAG port pins. There are some pins of the JTAG emulator where they are not exists in neither the Micro controller nor JTAG emulator reference circuit. I attached the JTAG port along with the mail.

Rajesh,

Please refer to section 5.9.5 Emulation/JTAG of the datasheet (SPRS880L) for detailed mapping of the JTAG pins between the MCU and the JTAG header. I am going to close this thread, feel free to reopen it if you have additional questions.

Thank you for your reply and it helped. The reference given in the LAUNCHXL-F28379D (page: 11/30), GPIO 43 , GPIO 42 is used. But the reference given in the SPRS880L (pg 71/226) GPIO 42,43 is not mentioned.

Hi Rajesh,

U6 in the LaunchPad serves as a xds100v2 debug probe and a USB-to-serial adapter. It can do both simultaneously or just one of functions could be used..

In the LaunchPad, GPIO42/43 are used to provide an SCI interface to U6, for the USB-to-serial adapter function. They are not necessary for JTAG.
