TMS320F2806x VCU question

Hello,

1024x768 Normal 0 21 false false false DE X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

does the VCU have any access to pheripherals like ADC, ...?

Is the VCU able to calculate floating point?

Can the customer use his own polynom for the CRC unit?

Regards
Holger

  • Holger,

The VCU is an extension of the CPU opcodes, so yes, it has access to everything the CPU does.

All arithmetic inside the VCU operates on signed integer numbers. Negative numbers are represented in two’s complement representation.

    The CRC polynomials are hardcoded.

VCU adds instructions to the main CPU instruction set.  It can access anything the main CPU can through register loads/store.

VCU calculations are all in fixed point.  The complex math instructions support shifting automatically to align IQ numbers.

No - only the 4 polynomials mentioned in the reference guide are supported.
