TMS320F280049C: Reverse wake up TCAN function confirm

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

Hi expert,

F280049C was used for new project on customer side. Customer was confused that they can't wake up TCAN function when F280049 is working in the sleep mode. They used this function in F280035. It can work well. Could you check it for us? Thanks.

Best Regards

Songzhen Guo

  • Hi Songzhen,

Thanks for your question! Can you provide a bit more details?

Do you mean that the device is not waking up from sleep mode when a communication packet is sent? And are you referring to the "Local Power-Down Mode"?

If so, can you ensure that the following is done:

    • Ensure WUBA is enabled in the CANMC register
    • Once CAN is put in to Local Power-Down Mode, send initial CAN message and observe if wakeup occurs

Let me know if this allows the device to properly enter/exit the local power-down mode!

    Regards,

    Vince

  • Hi,Vince,

The problem is I can not find the CANMC register and WUBA ,or some other similar registers in the technical reference manual of F28004x, It is not the same with the F28335 what we used before. The register What you refer to is easyly found in  the technical reference manual of F2833x. I check some technical information online ,it said the CAN model in F28335 is ECAN,but  in F280049 is DCAN ,the register is very different wiht each other .

    So ,if I want to

implement this function in F280049,how can I confige the register ? Is there this wakeup function in DCAN model in F280049 ?

  • Hello,

Thank you for the clarification! It looks like I misunderstood your initial question. To clarify, unfortunately for F28004x, there is no sleep mode/local power-down mode in DCAN as there is on the eCAN of F280035 and F28335. For the F280035/F28335, the steps mentioned above will work.

Let me know if this answers your question!

    Regards,

    Vince

  • Thank you for your answers ,I get it . It seems that we can not use this function in F28004X as F2833x.
