TMS320F28379D: Using EMIF Interface with DAC 7728

Dear Sir, 

I wanted to use DAC7728 with the controller. I need to know that the timing requirement of the DAC is compatible with TMS320F28379D or not ? 

Do I need more component to meet the timing for write operation into DAC ?

I made the circuit and i joint the address line to DAC and data line as given and regarding CS and Write I tide the lines EM1CS3 memory.

And I followed the datasheet instruction for pins configuration(as given in DAC datasheet). 

If the timing will not match then suggest the other parallel dac which is compatible with TMS320F28379D.

    Hi Ashutosh,

    Timing are little bit different. DAC7728 is using CS as strobe where as EMIF controller on F28377D uses WR/RD signal as strobe. We do have "Select Strobe" mode in EMIF  where CS is active only in strobe mode but so is WR/RD signal where as DAC7728 has min timing between WR/RD LOW to CS LOW as 2ns which may not be fulfill by EMIF.  Have you tried posting same question on DAC7728 forum to see if there is any more in that device which is compatible with EMIF ?

    Hi Vivek, 

    As you suggest to post the on the other forum I did. But they also want the schismatics of the same. But the sharing of schematic is quite not allow for any organization. I requested to give the sample circuit but not done. 

    although they told me the the timing are compatible for the processor and pin to pin connection is sufficient, I need to double confirm that so I am trying to send the schematics.  

    Let see how much time to take by them.
