TMS320LF2407A: Erase issue

Could you please provide a high-resolution photo of the top-side of the device that failed programming? If the failing devices are from different Lot trace codes, please include photos from a few different lots. Please see Fig 1 in page 4 of SPRZ002E to identify Lot trace code information.

We will investigate. In the interim, please provide the following information:

1. What tool (H/W & S/W) do you use to program the flash?
2. What is the error message you get during Erase?

A quick review of the Lot trace codes you provided shows that the material spans over a long period of manufacturing history (7 years - from 2012 to 2019) and does not show any commonality. The 27C2HOW is particularly interesting due to its age (2012 manufacture date). Since the new 50% fallout rate is impacting material from a 7-yr manufacturing history, it suggests the issue is unlikely with the material itself but something else.

First of all, it appears that including the 27C2HOW in the failed components was a mistake, this one is not part of the failed components.

To program our components we use the algorithms using the serial interface, downloaded from TI using the serial interface.

Further investigations lead to the following results :

On a series of 109 boards using the TMS320LF2407A :

6 with CA-93CE1KW are OK

8 with CA93-C9RQW are OK

37 with CA-93CE1KW failed

58 with CA-93CERQW failed

On a older board in working order, with replaced the TMS320 by a failed component CA93-CE9RQW, and from this point the board fails programming.

The Lot trace code does not appear to be correct. Did you mean to say " CA-93CERQW "? Perhaps you could omit "CA-" and only report the balance 7 characters.

Here are the crorrect lot trace codes without the CA prefix :

From our 109 boards :

93CE1KW : 6 OK, 37 failed

93C9RQW : 8 OK, 58 failed

Would it be possible to send a short video that shows the failure during the programming process?

Is it possible to reprogram the failing devices using a different method? Say JTAG + CCSv3.3?
