TMS320F28388D: CLA, DMA, CPU Arbitration to Peripheral registers

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Hello,

I am trying to understand the arbitration scheme when multiple bus masters are trying to access the peripherals (sharing same interface) simultaneously on TMS320F28388D device. I see in the TMS320F2838x TRM (SPRUII0A), the arbitration scheme is mentioned in two chapters as below:

In CLA chapter, section 8.4:

In DMA chapter, section 11.6:

In the DMA chapter, CLA and DMA access are shown as having equal priority, but in CLA chapter DMA access is shown having higher priority over CLA. Please let me know which one is correct?

Best Regards

  • Hi Amulrass,

Information in CLA chapter is correct. The information in DMA chapter need to be updated. We will update it in next revision of the document. On F2837D we had CLA and DMA accessed muxed hence it was like that and same information got carry over to F28388 device document.

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Regards,

    Vivek Singh
