Hi all,
I check the F2837xD TRM and it says, after a POR, XRS, CPU1.WDRS, CPU1.NMIWDRS or HIBRESET, the boot ROMs will clear all of the system and message RAMs on both CPUs.
According to F280049 TRM, after a POR, the boot ROMs will clear the M0/M1, LSx, GSx, and message RAMs. Does it mean POR is the only reset source to clear all RAM memory of F280049 and the external reset(XRS) won't do this?
I am wondering the reason designing different reset mechanisms between F2837xS/D, F28004x and F2838xS/D, please advise your comments if any, thanks for help.
Regards,
Luke
Luke,
Your observation is spot on.
We made this changes in Potenza BOOTROM based on the some customer feedback who wanted RAM initialization only on POR reset and not on other reset source which included XRSn.
