CCS/TMS320F28075: XDS110 Programming Error: SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN

I am trying to use the XDS110 to program the TMS320F28075 MCU. The MCU is on a board that I designed.

I'm using the ARM Cortex-M 10-pin (CM10) adapter that came with my XDS110 programmer. I followed this table when designing the circuit for my board:

The schematic for the JTAG connection on my board looks like this (the TMS320F28075 is on the left)

Whenever I try to program, I get the error "SC_ERR_PATH_BROKEN."

I've checked the voltage levels and the MCU is properly powered up. Also the XRS reset line is properly pulled up.

Hello,

I figured out my issue.

I basically had two issues:

1. My pulldown resistor on TRSTn was too small. Even though the data sheet states "2.2K or smaller." I used a 1K ohm resistor, which was too strong of a pull down. The XDS110 was not able to properly pull up the TRSTn line. I ended up switching this resistor to a 10K ohm.

2. I was using the 20 pin to 10 pin adapter that came with the XDS110 (shown below). The TRSTn signal is not on the 10 pin adapter. Instead, nRESET is used. I thought I could connect nRESET to TRSTn, however that did not work. I made my own custom 20 pin to 10 pin adapter which propagates the TRSTn signal.

After making the two above modifications, I was able to use the XDS110 debug probe to connect to my MCU.
