TMS320F28377D: F28377D - Running code from EMIF SDRAM.

Hi Guys, I've searched the manuals looking to see if the F28377D can run code from external SDRAM using the EMIF. EMIF Memory starts at 0x8000 0000. DMA access is very nice too, I'm happy with that.

I know the F28377D can run code from internal memory but thats not what we want to do.

Anyway, The manual probably does explain it but I can't seem to find it. Does anybody know if the F28377D CAN run code from external memory?

OH ALSO, the manual say 100Mhz clock speed, is that the maximum? It also says the EMIF can be clocked at cpuclk/1 so does that mean if I set the CPU speed to 200Mhz that the EMIF bus will run at 200Mhz?

Hi Peter,

The F238377D doesnot support execution from external SDRAM. However, the device supports execution from external asynchronous interface.
Please refer to the "6.3.3 EMIF Chip Select Memory Map" chapter in the datasheet for more details.

Regarding your 2nd question, The maximum clock speed supported on EMxCLK is 100Mhz.
