TMS320F28035: CSM password protected device programming

Part Number: TMS320F28035
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello everybody,

I have a customer who needs to program a CSM password protected TMS320F28035 throughout JTAG.

My programmer tool seems not to be able to establish JTAG communication with the device unless driving low GPIO34 before deasserting XRSn line or powering on the device.

This is also what I read in the TMS320 Reference Manual (CSM protected devices need to boot in Wait-In-Reset state...).

My customer is now complaining about the use of GPIO34 and he says that a very old Blackhawk debug probe is able to carry out the Password Match Flow routine without the use of that GPIO34 (i.e. only by using the standard JTAG).

Any ideas of how is it possible?

Regards,

Federico

P.S. I tried to program the same device by using XDS100v2 together with Uniflash 6.0 and it also doesn't connect unless GPIO34 is grounded.
