TMS320F28379D: Permanently Unlocking a Locked Device

Greetings,

I have a locked device, which I am trying to “permanently” unlock by changing the LINKPOINTER. To do this, I have performed the following steps:

1.  Put the device into Wait Boot Mode
2. Unlock the device using the password.
3. Start the On-Chip Flash
4. Change the Zone 1 LINKPOINTER values from FFFFFFFF to FFFFFFFE
5. Click the “Program LINKPOINTER” button

Steps 1 and 2 work fine, and I can see the correct contents of the secured memory.

Step 3 works

Step 4 works

Step 5 fails with a dialog box which says, “Error executing Flash operation “Z1LINKPOINTERProgram”: Unknown error”

Is there another step (or steps) which I need to add to make it work?
