CCS/TMS320F2808: DELAYS_US Macro, ADC Functions, and potentially other issues switching from Debug to Release Mode

Part Number: TMS320F2808

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

So I've spent far too long on this issue already, and I can't seem to find the solution...

I am working with CCS 6.2, using compiler version 15.12.3

The Linker command is 2808_RAM_lnk.cmd

I have developed my program in debug mode, which I'm under the understanding runs all my code in RAM, and never actually programs anything to flash. At this point, I'm ready to have my board programmed for production, but I'm not sure how to accomplish this.

My assumptions I made:

I replaced 2808_RAM_lnk.cmd with F2808.cmd instead (assuming this was the flash linker). Please let me know if that's wrong.

When I did this, I ran the code in debug mode and noticed I hit an ILLEGAL_ISR(void) when the ADC init function called the DELAY_US macro. After spending hours reading how to remove this error without luck, I made my own delay function with some "for" loops and moved on. Now though, when I try to run my program it runs... but the ADC returns 0 for all my channels.
I know I'm missing something, can someone please let me know how to move past this point? I'm beyond frustrated at this point.
