Hi,

I tried to use Uniflash to read the content of my microcontroller, but it can only output *.bin or *.out, but what I need is a 'hex' file (eg. Intel hex).

Actually, Uniflash displays the content I need, but the export function doesn't support saving to a plain text file.

Ruud,

You are correct. It only allows you to export as a .BIN file or a .out file as of now.

If any other format is required, it would be a new requirement.

Hi Vamsi,

Is there another way? I mean, if I want to check whether my bootloader programmed the code okay, I takes me hours to check.

Ruud,

You can load your image using CCS or UniFlash and calculate the checksum using these tools.

Then load the image using your bootloader and calculate the checksum using CCS/UniFlash.

Compare both to confirm whether it is the same or not.

Please note the checksum calculation is done for entire flash memory.

Vamsi,

It's a pity that it is not possible to read out the memory in a 'readable' way.
Could you do a request for this? I mean, I think most people can use such a feature when using Intel based hex files.

Ruud,

In our survey, we got requirements only for a bin and out file. Users read bin file in hex editors.

We will integrate the intel-hex export feature in our next release (targeted for November 2020).
