CCS/TIEVM-VIENNARECT: three-phase Vienna:BUILD 1 --- Three phase current unbalance

Part Number: TIEVM-VIENNARECT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-1000

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

HI

When I was testing the build 1 mode of three-phase Vienna and inputting 30vac, there was a big difference between the effective values of guiIrms1, guilrms2 and guilrms3 in the three-phase current.

As shown in the figure below:

In the figure, guiIrms1=0.624621212,guiIrms2=0.532381952,guiIrms3=0.544618249

I measured the current waveform of guiIrms1 and guiIrms2 points, as shown in the figure below. You can see that the difference between guiIrms1 and guiIrms2 is large.

guiIrms1 is larger than guiIrms2 and guiIrms3, which leads to the fact that when I gradually increase the voltage from 30vac to 120Vac, PWM triggers protection and displays the board status_ OverCurrentTrip.

What is the cause of this?

Oh, by the way, in the EMC input filter, I removed the inductance of the red circle in the figure, and used the wire connection. Other parameters have not changed. Does this affect it?

Look forward to your reply.

  • Hi,

Under build 1, the unbalance you saw is not that bad since we don't have the current loop closed. However, it should not trigger over-current protection.

Have you change anything in the code or TIDM-1000 board? If so, I would suggest to use the original settings to test it first. And please follow each step in the user guide.

    Regards,

    Chen
