Hello,
We use 2838x series DSP as host computer master control, and connect servo drives through EtherCAT.
We wonder whether the built-in EtherCAT of 2838x DSP can be used as EtherCAT main station?
If not, could anyone recommend other chips with EtherCAT main station?
Thank you!
Judy,
F28388 builtin EtherCAT is a Slave IP, it cannot be configured to work as Master.
I'll ask our expert to comment further.
Judy
I'd check with Acontis - https://www.acontis.com/en/
They have an embedded ECAT master which can likely run on the F28388 CM and I know they are investigating a solution to use the F28388 Ethernet port to support ECAT master functionality.
Best regards
Chris
Hi Karthik,
Thank you for your reply!
But we are still wondering whether TI has MCU or DSP that contains EtherCAT master?
Best regards,
Judy
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your reply!
If you have any further information about Acontis solution, please let me know.
Best regards,

Another non-C2000 option is to use Sitara, they support ethercat master. Again, I believe they are using Acontis embedded master.
Since we don't have any plans currently to support ECAT master, talking with Acontis will be your best option (for the C2000 option).
Best regards

Chris
Yes Sitara are using Acontis embedded master. And I'd check with Acontis for our C2000.
Again, many thanks for your thorough reply!
Best regards
