TMS320F28379S: t-format example: gpio7 and gpio34

Part Number: TMS320F28379S

according to the Tamagawa T-Format Absolute-Encoder Master Interface Reference Design

for C2000™ MCUs, I can setup gpios as needed depending on which spi clock I choose to use. Fine.

But in a couple places, the reader is told that GPIO7, and GPIO34 must always be configured.

I want to use the f28379s with the 100-pin package. I do not have neither gpio7 or gpio34. Please clarify the meaning here- if I want to use the t-format example software I must use a version of f28379 that includes those two pins? I am not able to work around this?

Thank you,

Don Morgan

  • Don,

Yes, this is confusing.  It is a left-over from when the CLB portion was a closed-library.  At that time the source was not provided for the library portion so specific pins had to be used to interface with the CLB.  Now that the library source is provided these can be moved as the end application requires.

I will submit a bug to clarify this in the documentation.

    Regards
