Hello,

I am using the TMS320F28388D controller

What will be the maximum power consumed by the DSP alone from a 5V supply rail with and without software loaded.

Hi Greeshma,

Please refer Power Consumption Summary in the Data sheet. Also how are you connecting VDD to the DSP?

Hi,

VDD is connected to 1.2V. Both VDD(1.2V) and VDDIO (3.3V) is generated from the 5V voltage rail.

In that case you can add up the 3.3V and 1.2V current numbers from data sheet. That is how much current you will see consumed through 5V supply by the device. There will be additional current on top of it consumed by components on the board like switching regulators etc.
