CCS/TMS320F28388D: Ethercat as ethernet

Is it possible to use the Ethercat connection as an ethernet connection.
I have an old code where I have all the communication set up with the ethernet, and I just realized, with the new board, F28388D, the shared RAM memory between the CM and CPU1 is way to small.

I then saw that the ethercat connection was connected directly to CPU1. Could that be possible to do that?

I have a DUT where C28 reads data from, then it stored in a ring buffer where i use the shared RAM. Then the CM core reads the data from the ring buffer and sends it to LabVIEW with an ehternet connection.

Hello

It is possible to tunnel ethernet traffic in ethercat frames (Look up EtherCAT EoE or Ethernet over EtherCAT). You'd need to set it up as EtherCAT though, it can't be only another Ethernet port.

Yeah, you'd need to setup ethercat with the "ethernet over ethercat" protocol. As I mentioned this is an option but may be a lot of effort if you don't have an EtherCAT setup and different options to try to solve your issue may be more worth while into into investigating.
