Hello TI team

I have a question about McBSP interface of F28069.

As we know , F28069 only provide one channel McBSP bus .i was wondering if it is possible that this bus can support two channel audio DAC like pcm4104?

Hello,

The part that you referenced is for a four channel audio DAC, did you mean to reference a similar 2 channel audio DAC?

To answer your question though, yes, the McBSP module should be able to interface with a two channel audio DAC.

Please check out SPRA595 for an overview of using McBSP as I2S. It is for the C6000 product line, but the McBSP module is equivalent, so the configurations will still be valid.

my mistake . i plan to choose PCM4104 as our system audio DAC since we need 4 channels diff output and the F28069F also will be used as a Main chip. so here is thing ,can McBSP bus on F28069F support the I2S interface on PCM4104? and how to connect ?

Hello,

You can interface the PCM4104 with the F28069F by using TDM data formats. Since you would like to use four channels instead of two then DATA0 will carry the audio data for all four channels, while the DATA1 input is ignored. The DSP in this case being the F28069F.

With two channels you could do dual-phase transmit mode of the McBSP, but since you want to interface with four channels and the F280069 only has one transmit pin you will need to configure the device for multichannel selection. I would advice reading section '15.6 Multichannel Selection Modes' of the technical reference manual for more details on the configurations.
