TMS320F28388D: MAC Address

We have the development board of TMS320F28388D for exploring the functionality.

We want to know whether the controller comes with built in MAC address or a separate interfacing is done on development board to use the MAC.

Hi,

The F28388D has the built in MAC. The MAC address is not programmed in the device. It can be programmed in the Ethernet module MAC Address register. You can decide a mechanism of getting unique MAC address and program it in some area of OTP/Flash and program it in the Ethernet register. Hope it clarifies.

So, if we purchase only the controller, do we get MAC address along with it or we have to purchase separate component for it?

Hi,

We are not providing MAC Address with silicon.
