CCS/TMS320F28335: ecap example

If you have downloaded and installed C2000ware SDK, the path to the example I mentioned in previous post.

How are you configuring the eCAP? Are you configuring in one-shot or continuous mode?

I didn't download it now I will as per your suggestion.

I am totally unaware of this I just want the time period of the wave form which one would be helpful sir.

If I am getting the counter readings as CEV 1 as 263430 unsigned int 32 but data and CEVT 2 as 353472 unsigned 32 bit data then how do we calculate the time period of the signal.

Hi S. Chand,

It depends on how the eCAP is configured - one-shot or continuous method. I will suggest to go to TRM document and go through the example explained here.

I have through the document you shared it explains that in one shot mode the cap registers are loaded once and and last event an interrupt is generated which stops the mod 4 counter and loading of cap registers any further unless rearmed.

In continous mode the mod 4 wraps and the capture events continuously take place and time stamp the value in to the cap registers continuously.

As my signal is of constant time period both should work fine I guess. If wrong please correct me.

Please share your thought on calculating the actual time period from cap register counter value. If the capture event 1 gives a one time stamp value and similarly cap 2 gives another they both are counter values how to measure the actual time period.
