External Power Supply for LV Multi-axis kit

Currently I workout a motor with back-emf ~twice higher than that of the Anaheim BLY172S-24V-4000.

How can external 50V supply can be connected to the kit if possible?

Thanks.

P.S.:  DRV8402 allows working with up to 60V as can be judged from tech docs.

  • Hello,

The kit as designed will work with an input voltage between 24-36Vdc.  The main limits on the input voltage are as below:

    • [M4]-P1's max input voltage is rated at 36V.  If you move around the jumper at [M4]-J1 and put in an external 12V supply at TB1 you should be able to use a higher DC input voltage.
    • The DRV8402 has a limitation on it's maximum voltage, if I remember correctly the limit is 50Vdc, but  it could be 60V.  Check the datasheet.

For anything greater than 50V, I'd recommend using the High Voltage PFC and Motor Control Development Kit.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Hello, Brett.

    I'll certainly check it out.
