TMS320F280049C: Number of instructions for IIR_F32

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

How many instructions are required for a 3p3z IIR control, like the IIR_f32 function?

Does it make a difference in terms of number of instructions if they use a 3p3z 32bit fix point control or 3p3z gloating point? If yes, by how much/many?

  • Andreas, sorry for the delay. I was assigned this thread today. I will get back to you by COB today. Thanks, Sira

  • Andreas,

I typically would have referred you to our FPU DSP library (C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_3_03_00_00\libraries\dsp\FPU\c28\docs), but this only has biquad IIR implementations.

Our DCL has a more flexible implementation. If you look at Section 3.9 Direct Form 2 3rd order compensators, these are the 3p3z IIR filters. Sec 1.5 has the benchmarking information. So in this case, I would think the relevant information is

    DCL_runDF22_C1 (Full compensator in asm)

DCL_runDF22_C4 (Full compensator in C (inlined)) - Compiler optimization disabled

Look for the DCL here: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_3_03_00_00\libraries\control\DCL\c28\docs

    Thanks,

    Sira
