Hi there,

In DP83822 manual (SNLS505C), it is stated that pin 13 and 15 should be left floating while pin 24 should be connected to a pull-up/down resistor:

But in TMDSECATCNCD379D's schematic, they are connected to a bunch of capacitors:

Is this intentional or will it affect the chip's normal operation? The demo board we have work fine but we are encountering problem on our custom board.

Yiu,

Please follow the datasheet recommendation. If these pins are unused please leave floating.

For another reference of C2000 integrated with the DP83822 please the F28388D controlCARD in C2000Ware: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_x_xx_xx_xx\boards\controlCARDs\TMDSCNCD28388D

This EVM includes an integrated EtherCAT module and removes the need for an external ET1100, while keeping the same features as the F28379D device.

What issue are you having with your design? What debug have you done?

We are experiencing occasional packet loss (observed with ethernet analyzer)

We have tried to connect the circuit as stated in manual but no improvement.

Reading register from ET1100, we think that the PHY chip keep reporting RX_ERR. Do u know what will make it behave in such way?

I am not sure why the PHY would be reporting RX_ERR, let me have this post transferred over to the PHY forum.

Hi Vikram,

We are running in MII mode. Not sure about the master/slave, it only apply to RMII right?

With packet errors Rx_err will go up for MII.

Rx_err is the indication from PHY of errors in received packet.
