TMDSHVRESLLCKIT: TMDSHVRESLLCKIT power issue

Part Number: TMDSHVRESLLCKIT

Hi,

My customers evaluate TMDSHVRESLLCKIT. They have two problems and please tell me about them.

Question 1:

They look at HVLLC-QSG[R3] and evaluate EVM.

They are looking at the Hardware Setup steps. And even if 390V is supplied, the power is not supplied in the controlCARD. (Probably U1 overcurrent detection is working.)

When they supplied 350V there, they was able to connect to PC (GUI tool).

Also, if you gradually increase it from 350V to 390V, it will work without problems even at 390V.

Is this usage correct?

Question 2:

I want to rewrite the program in the above situation. When connected to CCS, they get the following error message and can't debug.

C28xx: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1135 @ 0x0) The emulator reported an error. Confirm emulator configuration and connections, reset the emulator, and retry the operation. (Release 5.0.333.0)

Would you tell me how to rewrite the program?

CCS v4.1

TMDSHVRESLLCKIT

Best regards, Rei

  • Hi Rei,

For Q1, this sounds have something to do with the 400V-to-15V to Aux-DC-Power supply. Please try to unpopulate [Main]-J2 and power the control circuit with the Aux 15V power jack [M3]-JP1 and see if this issue still exists.

For Q2, are you trying to use the on-board XDS100 emulator? Please check if the [Main]-J6 jumper is populated. This is a JTAG enable jumper. Enables JTAG connection to the MCU. This jumper needs to be unpopulated when booting from FLASH, SCI, or another medium.

If this is not the issue, you can also refer the document below for JTAG conncetion debug.
