CCS/TMS320F28379D: For the Field Oriented Control Algorithm testing, is the DesignDRIVE kit required?

Hi,

I am wanting to test the software of the controlCARD, but I keep reading about the DesignDRIVE Development Kit IDDK and was wondering if that I was required.

Is there a way to test the TMS320F28379D BUILDLEVEL's using only that card? I currently have it attached to its TMDSDOCK28379D Experimenter's Kit dock if that helps.

Hi Josh,

Can you please elaborate on your question? I guess you want to download IDDK software to TMDSDOCK28379D and see if it works. Do you plan to connect your own power stage to drive the motor or just want to run the specific build level without the power stage?

Hi John,

We plan to connect our own power stage but I want to test BUILDLEVEL 1, 2, and 3 before connecting.

How do I go about testing and seeing the graphs given only the control card and the dock?

Yes! The build levels for the SFOC. Are we able to test those having only the TMS320F28379D and the dock for it.

To verify certain segments of the overall code, you can use the DOCK. As a BUILD_LEVEL, only LEVEL1 can be tested on dock. For others, you need the kit.
