TMS320F28388D: Design and support Ethercat dual port and Ethernet one port simultaneously

Hi Expert,

Whether both F28388D 337-pin and 176-pin version support Ethercat and Ethernet at the same time? There are some pins are shared by both Ethernet MAC and Ethercat, whether two communication modes are supported in HW for both two pinout?

    Hi Zhou,

    Yes, user can use both EtherCAT and Ethernet on 337-pin package device.

    On 176-pin package device user can use only one port of  EtherCAT and Ethernet. 

    Having said that, it'll depends on what other functions are used in the application. You should be able to use the SYSCONFIG tool (pinmux) to analyze the usecase for both the packages.
