CCS/TMS320F28069: Error connecting to the target (Error-1015@0x0) - Unable to flash the software to TI28069 MCU

Part Number: TMS320F28069

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

While flashing the software, I'm getting an error message "Error connecting to the target (Error-1015@0x0)". I'm still able to connect the MCU by using JTAG XDS110v3 debugger.

MCU : TMS320F28069

CCS : 10.1.1 Version

Got the same error for 2 MCU boards. The connectivity from the JTAG is fine, the issue seems to be a Locked Device.

How to solve this issue?

  • I believe that controller has gone into permanent lock condition because of the sudden power loss during the software programming. Is there any way to recover the same?- Please suggest.

  • Renjith,

If the device is locked due to un-intentional programmation of the passwords then the device is considered permanently locked.  We have no way on this device to recover a device in this condition.

I'd like to make sure this is the case, however, before we consider it in this state.  After you connect with CCS to the device, can you open a memory window to the password locations.  If you open the memory browser to address 0x3F 7FF8 and have till 0x3F7FFFF in the window and "refresh" this will read those locations.  If you see 0x0000, then the device is locked.  If you see 0xFFFF then the device is unlocked and we can debug further.

    Best,
    Matthew
