Hello,
My customer is considering using the TI processor TMS320F280049 in one of our new products.
Does the processor meet the ISO 26262 ASIL B standard?
On the one hand it is defined that F280049 with CLA has ASIL B .
(according to the datasheet it has a CLA).
On the other hand in a Safety Manual for TMS320F28004x document p.4 defined that Supported Safety Integrity Level of F280049RSHSR is QM.
Hi Victor,
The devices that you have highlighted, namely, F280049C, F280049, F280048C and F280048 all have the CLA and they are all ASIL B devices.
Cheers!
Krishna
Thank you,
additionally the customer asked :
Why does a F280049RSHSR not appear in a F28004x TUV FuncSafety Certificate
document?

Hi Victor,
You may have found an error because F280049RSHSR should be in the TUV document . We will look into this and get back to you.
Thanks,
Krishna
Hi Victor,
There is no error in regards to the F280049RSHSR part. It is a 56-pin part and is not recommended for automotive applications. The TUV certificate is only applicable to parts compliant with the ISO 26262 ASIL ratings.
Thanks,
Krishna
