TMS320F280049: AQ and DB delay

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Dear Champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

In P.1809 of TRM rev. D

It says,

"The Type 4 action qualifier and dead-band outputs of the ePWM module are delayed by one TBCLK cycle in comparison to the Type 2 ePWM module, although the Type 4 behavior is the same as the Type 3 PWM. Both PWMA and PWMB signals are delayed under all circumstances."

Would you please confirm "delayed by one TBCLK" means

1) AQ + DB is delayed by one TBCLK in total

or

2) each of AQ and DB is delayed by one TBCLK

?

  • Each should have a one TBCLK delay as the signal is processed through the modules.

The delay of the ePWM internal modules should not affect your application. The signal after going through all modules will come out as expected. There is always delay inside the chip as we condition it.
