CCS/TMS320F28379D: Opens/Shorts Detection Circuit (OSDETECT)

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi

I am using TMS320F28379D. Can someone who has used this structure previously found in the ADC unit, explain how this structure is used, why it is used, what the usage situations affect?
Since I am a beginner, I could not understand anything from the explanation in the reference manual.

Thank you from now.

    how this structure is used

The structure introduces an internal, resistive load to the common ADC S/H path.

    why it is used

For the purpose of identifying or diagnosing signal integrity problems that may be affecting the ADC inputs in the DC domain -- such issues are often modeled as parasitic resistance and would be sensitive to the effects of the diagnostic resistive load.

The circuit is only intended to be used for diagnostics and should be disabled during normal operation.

  • When I tried to access it softwarely, I couldn't find the struct value defined in the RAM area. Can we get it in any way?

  • Hi, tlee and other subject matter experts are currently out of the office due to the US holiday.  you should receive a reply by Tuesday or Wednesday next week.  I'm sorry for the delay.

    Regards,

This is defined in the headers as AdcXRegs.ADCOSDETECT.all
