Hi,
what is the status and roadmap of the bitfield library. Comparing the library for 2837x and 28004x the latter one is significantly reduced (e.g. the *_TempSensorConv.c with function GetTemperatureC is missing)
Looking at discussion at TMS320F28388D: Bitfield IPC driver code for F28388D, can we assume that TI will not develop the Bitfield library to the same level as before, and only basic support as in 28004x library is what we can hope for in the future? Therefore if user wants more support he/she should migrate towards the driverlib
If yes that you might want to put in a notice at least in controlSUITE™ to C2000Ware Transition Guide that Bitfield library is deprecated and users are encouraged to migrate do driverlib.
We are just starting to migrate a project to 28004x and it is a first time that we experience falling quality. In the past we've had no issues as this one in the long chain from 2812 to 2808 to 28027 to 28335 to 28069 to 2837x.
Hi,
Yes, the bitfield approach was used to access peripherals and write applications in controlSUITE (predecessor to C2000Ware).Starting with C2000Ware, the recommended approach to access peripherals is using driverlibs. However, to assist in a smooth transition from bitfield to driverlib, bitfield software continues to be packaged as part of C2000Ware but there is no active development been done on bitfield.
We will add a note in the controlSUITE™ to C2000Ware Transition Guide regarding this.
Best Regards
Siddharth
