Hello,

I am using SPIA as a slave and the SPISIMOA is assigned to GPIO58. I want to invert the signal and I am enabling the inverter of GPIO58. GPBINV register shows it is properly set. The GPBDAT shows inverted signal, but the SPIA input is still not inverted. Am I doing something wrong, or the GPIO inverter is not working with the peripherals?

Hello Valentin,

GPBINV applies only when the pin is used as GPIO58. It doesn't have any effect when the pin is used as SPISIMOA. To invert the signal, you will need to either add a logic inverter on the signal, or program the CPU to invert the bits in software.

Hello Gus,

Thanks for your replay. I already figured it out, the confusion came from the way Figure 8-1. GPIO Logic for a Single Pin in the manual was drawn. It shows the inverter is common for the IO and the peripherals. I am referring to page 952 of SPRUHM8I–December 2013–Revised September 2019.

Ah yes, you are correct. The GPBINV register should invert the SPISIMOA signal, *unless* high-speed mode is used. If high-speed mode is used the inversion is not available as noted in the TRM. Thanks for pointing out my error.
