they want to know what is the scenario to use it ? and what side affect on using this?

Hi Emma,
Section 15.11 in TRM covers the description and implementation of the OSDETECT feature of the ADC. With this feature, users would be able to detect open/shorted ADC input pins (as described in sections 15.11.2 and 15.11.3) as part of diagnosis routine for the ADC before using it in application.

Thanks for your reply. However, I can not find the sections 15.11.2 and 15.11.3 in newest TRM.

Hi Emma,
Sorry for providing you the incorrect information. For F280025, the ADC OSDETECT section can be found in section 15.9 and the topic for detecting an OPEN and SHORTed pin can be found in sections 15.9.2 and 15.9.3.
Please note the below paragraph in the TRM when using the OSDETECT feature of the ADC block:
"
You must interpret the results based on what is driving on the input side and what are the values of RS and CP. If
the VS signal can be disconnected from the input pin, the circuit can be used to detect open and shorted input
pins as described in the following sections.
"
In order for the circuit to work, the ADC channel to be checked should be able to disconnect from the external source, otherwise the external impedances (Rs, Cp) and the driving signal Vs (from fig 15-11) should be accounted for.
