TMS320F28069: Flash Erase time

Hello Expert,

Regarding TMS320F280049, the erase time is described at 25, 1000, 2000, 20K times respectively,
but that kind of data is not described in TTMS320F2806 Datasheet.

Do you have such data as TMS320F280049? Our customer wants to know those typ, and max data , especially the data over 100 times.

Also please provide the deviation data of erase time if there exists.

Just to confirm: I think you mean to ask erase data for F2806 and not for F280049 - correct?

Hi Fujinaka,

Currently we have no plans of adding similar data to F2806 Datasheet, if their is a strong need for this data we will have to look at the data available and may have to re characterize similar to F280049 device. In either case it will take some time and effort to put similar data on F2806 Datasheet, and will have to evaluate with the team.

On your second question on standard deviation data it will not be realistic to put that in spec, as it is highly dependent on temperature. It is recommended to use Max time.

Hello Nirav,

Our customer does not push to add the similar data on F28069 DS but they have these 2 requests.

1) Does TI have the similar or correspondig reference data as F28069 erase time?

2) F28069 Max sector erase time is defined as 15sec . Is this value valid even over the 100 Erase/Program cycle? If not what is the real maximum value?

Fujinaka-san,

We do not have this level of detail for the F2806x device.

This is a different(older) flash technology than that used on the F28004x device, and has different limitations.

While the 15s max sector erase is what we can guarantee for 100 cycles, the typical behavior is what will be observed in most cases. In any case the array itself is still guaranteed to 20k W/E minimum.
