TMS320F28379D: Inuitive graphical tool for configuration: memory, bios, CLA, HWI, SWI,...

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28388D, SYSBIOS, C2000WARE, SYSCONFIG

Hello,

we are wasting a lot of time in configuration of the  TMS320F28379D adn TMS320F28388D. We want to use many of the functionalities of these micro, but we are having problems inf the configuration of the micro and what I want is to spend time in code implementation, no in the configruation. Is there a intuitive graphical tool to configure the micro at the begining of the project? I mean, a tool where decide that I want to use the BIOS, the CLA, the PWM and the ADC with determined interrupts, the task, SWI,etc... and it creates a template code where start to implement your code without spending a lot of hours in the configuration.

Also we think that there has tobe more use case examples available using all the functionalities together, specially with BIOS. Do you know where I can find more? We really need it.

Tha k you and kind regards,

Edu

  • Hi,

If you are using SysBios, then config file can be opened in graphical mode, just dubble-click the cfg file or right-click and open with xconfig. Please the screen below.

But most of the example in C2000ware are bare-metal. You can pull the example in SysBios project based on need.

  • E.g. : I want to use CLA and BIOS in the same project and want to configure a PWM interrupt for CLA and a ADC interrupt using BIOS, but the CLA does not work. I have a project with only the CLA working and a project only with the BIOS working. But when I try to unify them, something goes wrong and don't work. It seems that it something related to the memory management, but I cannot see where is the mistake. And due to that there are no examples available with the same configuration (or I could not find them), I cannot compare where I am wrong and I am spending a lot of time.

When I talked about a graph configuration tool, I am talking about a software that you configure at the first  begining of the project, and these tool configures the micro, add all the libraries and creates a template code with all the function where tou can insert your code.

    Kind regards,

    Edu

  • Edu,

Please take a look at SysConfig tool. There is an example C2000ware SDK.

    C:/ti/c2000/C2000Ware_3_03_00_00/driverlib/f2837xd/examples/cpu1/pinmux

Import the project and then open sysconfig file. It will open up the graphical interface for configuration. You can configure peripherals as per your need. Once you compile, it will generate required header and source file.

Please refer to users guide for required tool-chains

  • Thank you Santosh,

We already know these tools. Just to know what we're talking about, I am talking about a configuration tool like this one: www.st.com/.../stm32cubemx.html (you can delete when you post it XD).

Also, what we would like to have now are examples of CLA+BIOS working in the same project.

And it would be perfect to have examples of these working in the same project:

    - Sysbios running in each of the 2 CPU
    - CLA working in each of the 2 CPU
    - ADC working in each of the 2 CPU
    - PWM working in each of the 2 CPU
    - HW Interrupt working in each of the 2 CPU (with PWM or ADC would be great)

    Kind regards,

    Edu

  • Edu,

We don’t have an all in one soln but here is what we have that is similar:

Other than that all our reference designs have FW included as open source as well as the examples in C2000Ware and the associated SDKs.

Regarding SysBios/CLA,  I will recommend to start with SysBios example, and add CLA code. If you encounter any issue, please post the question here and we will direct it to subject matter expert to help.
