Hello,

I'm new to all this.
I am trying to program/download the HEX file to TMS320F2812PGF onboard.
using TI XDS100v2 USB JTAG Emulator, P/N: TMDSEMU100V2U-14T
http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Xds100v2

I have only HEX file. The emulator can be used with free Code composer Studio 4 (for this Emulator only).

Could you tell me step by step to program HEX file to the TMS320F2812PGF using CCS4 and XDS100v2?
Do I have to convert the .HEX file to .OUT file? How?

Another question is I want to download the "C2000 Teaching ROM" at this link:
http://www.ti.com/ww/eu/university/roms.html?DCMP=C200032-BITMICROCONTROLL+Other&HQS=Other+PR+c2rompek-pr-dl
However it does not work. Is there any other locations I can download it?

Hi,

As far as I know there is no app that lets you convert from hex to bin again.. You will need to load this hexfile with the on-chip bootloader. In the boot rom reference guide for your device you can find the details.

I Have difficulty with I have "boot rom reference guide"
Is there a simple tutorial on how to burn a HEX file to TMS320F2812?
Something like:
Connect JTAG cable from "XDS100v2 USB JTAG Emulator" to JTAG port on board.
From CC4, open menu XX , load HEX file YY, click burn to device... Done.
Or is there any other softwares can do that?

Hi,

There is codeskin - a tool that lets you program hex files to the target but via serial communication not via JTAG. You will not be able to program a hex file via JTAG as far as I know...I am not aware of a very simple step-by-step tutorial as you like it, bu TI provides this guide. The embedded flash Section on the wiki pages is a good starting point too. Hope this helps

i think SDFlash is easy to use if ur ccs version is lower than 4. it is associated with examples.

But SDFlash use .OUT file only.
