TMS320F28379D: CLB Counter as a Shift Register

Greetings,

I would like to use a CLB counter as a shift register and have it output one bit at a time. I can see how to set it up to shift a value left or right. But I can’t see a way to examine the LSb or MSb unless the ZERO, MATCH1, or MATCH2 outputs change their behavior in the shift mode. Is there a way to output those bits?

In the latest C2000WARE, 3.03.00.00, I released type 2 CLB Tool. This is only available on F28004x, F28002x, F2838x. In this version you can click a check box and the COUNTER turns into a shift register, you can tap a bit in the shift register as output, you can shift data left, right, and control the clock and data of the shift register.

This is not available on F28379D. On 379D the counter can just shift the value in the counter to the left/right by a certain number of bits, when the EVENT signal is active.

For the CLB counter in the SHIFT REGISTER mode, you must use a type2 or type3 CLB, we have examples for this in the C2KWare named SERIALIZER.

So a terminology question. Is the CLB in the F28379D considered to be a "type 1 CLB"?

Yessir F28379D is type1. F2837xS, and F2807x as well.
