TMS320F280049C: Confusion regarding NACK bit in I2CSTR in slave-transmitter I2C mode

Part Number: TMS320F280049C

According to TRM of F280049C, NACK of I2CSTR "NACK applies when the I2C module is a master transmitter."
Does it mean that NACK bit won't become 1 if NACK is received in slave - transmitter mode?

I checked the TRMs of  F28035 and F29069M, it says "NACK applies when the I2C module is a transmitter (master or slave)" .

  • Arpan,

I2CSTR.NACK bit-field is used to notify master transmitter that slave didn't send ACK in acknowledge cycle.

I2CSTR.NACK bit-field description you find in F280049 TRM is correct and bit field description found in F28035 / F28069 is incorrect.

This discrepancy in F28035 / F28069 TRM will be corrected in future.

    Regards,

    Manoj
