Hello,

I am having trouble programming via the serial flash programmer. I am running the following command:

serial_flash_programmer.exe -d f2837xS -k F2837xS_sci_flash_kernel.txt -a {Project_name}.txt -p COMx -b 9600 -w -v

and get the response shown below.

I have also gotten prompted for the CPU kernel commands, but the screenshot above is more common. Not sure why I'm getting different results for the same commands. I am also not able to successfully choose the DFU CPU command if I do get to that point.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

Hi Cameron,

Is the txt file for the flash kernel modified at all from when it is created to when you use the serial flash programmer? It looks as if the SCI bootloader is getting stuck when trying to read the first RAM address that it wants to write to.

I would also make sure that if anything else is written to RAM, that there are no memory overlaps between it and where the kernel will be. You can check the linker command file and the .map file to check where the kernel will be in RAM.

Hi Anu,

No, it isn't. I use hex2000.exe to convert F2837xS_sci_flash_kernel.out and my project.out files to hex and output them as .txt files. They are not modified after this step.

I'll check for memory overlaps.

Hi Anu,

It doesn't look like there are any memory overlaps. It seems to be an intermittent problem. Sometimes I'm able to move forward, but more often I'm not.

Thanks for confirming that there are no memory overlaps.

A couple other things worth checking - are the Boot Mode Select Pins set properly to allow SCI Boot? Is the project compiled with the SCI_BOOT_ALTERNATE parameter for SCI_GetFunction()?
