Hi,

We are working on a solar hybrid inverter development from scratch. For development purpose , We came across two kits :

1. Launchpad

2. Control Card

https://www.ti.com/tool/TMDSDOCK28379D/

Which of this will be suitable for our development. We are using 16 ADC channels, 12 PWMS , multiple GPIOS, RTC(i2c), EEPROM(i2c), UART (modbus), LCD (gpio), We have a tight schedule and will have to complete most development on the developer kit itself before the actual boards are ready.

Can you suggest if Launchpad or control Card will be a better option for us?

Hi Parvathi,

The LaunchPad will be the lower cost development kit. The controlCARD will provide more access to F28379D signal pins & tends to be designed to show better performance (such as ADC performance).

Based on your requirements, it looks like either kit will work. However, the LaunchPad will just barely.

Because of your goals & the flexibility it offers, I would probably recommend the TMDSDOCK28379D for your specific needs.

All of our digital power TI reference designs use the control card. So I would recommend the control card even though it costs more, as Brett mentioned.
