When working in Advanced: Field control & modulation section of GUI, SVM modulation was set to Quasi Sinusoidal by default but in user.h file USER_MAX_VS_MAG_PU was specified in pure sine wave. So, when motor is running (i.e., at 1000rpm) in GUI environment, we changed the SVM modulation from Quasi Sinusoidal to Pure Sinusoidal. Motor stopped abruptly and jumped. DRV and mosfets are blown out.

What case the motor to behave like this.

Which reference code/lab and GUI are you working on? What value did you set to USER_MAX_VS_MAG_PU? Are you using a TI EVM kit or your own board?

we worked on 11e (FOC lab) and GUI is also FOC. USER_MAX_VS_MAG_PU is 0.5 and the same value is used in SVM modulation of GUI FOC for pure sinusoidal. we are using TI EVM kit (DRV 8301-HC-EVM Rev D).

Which GUI? InstaSPIN UNIVERSAL? Did you run the lab in CCS first? Lab11e is using the hall sensors for a startup, did you follow the lab guide to connect the hall sensor?

GUI is InstaSPIN FOC, Yes 11e labs is hall start up and we followed the lab guides and able to run the 11e lab properly.

Only InstaSPIN UNIVERSAL supports the lab11e. Please follow the GUI guide to use this GUI.

No we are not facing any problem regarding the 11e lab. Doubt is when SVM modulation in GUI FOC was changed to quasi sinusoidal to pure sinusoidal the motor stopped and drv and mosfets are blown out. we are using BLDC motor. So what cause the motor to behave like this is our doubt. Is there any wrong changing SVM modulation to Quasi sinusoidal to pure sinusoidal.

The GUI is for a former version motorWare that can't support the new version motorWare, especially change some control parameters like over modulation by using GUI.

We recommend that you might use the INSTASPINUNIVERSALGUI.
