TIDM-02008: 3kW 24VDC to 120VAC Inverter

Part Number: TIDM-02008

Hello team,

I'm looking for an inverter reference design that can support 3kW 24VDC to 120VAC.

Can the TIDM-02008 achieve this? If so, what adaptations might need to be made to get the design up and running at these specifications?

Do we have another design that might be a better fit?

Best,
Dajon McGill

  • Hi Dajon,

The nominal inverter mode voltage for TIDM-02008 is 380 V in dc and the output is 120V or 230 V in ac.

In the inverter mode, it works as a buck converter and therefore the peak of ac output has to be lower than the dc input. So it is not able to convert 24Vdc to 120Vac.

I don't think you can find a single board solution for this but adding a dc/dc stage (step-up) to the inverter can be an option.

    Best,

    John

  • Hey John,

    Thank you for the response.

Do you know if there is a better design that might align better to the desired specifications/operation?

I haven't had any luck so far in locating one.

  • Dajon,

We currently don't have a reference design for this specification.
