Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSCNCD28388D
Hi champs,
F28388D supports two EtherCAT ports and one Ethernet port.
As I know the EtherCAT port(MAC) cannot be used for Ethernet function, is it correct?

Luke

Luke,
In reference to the design of the TMDSCNCD28388D controlCARD the EtherCAT ports cannot be used with the Ethernet module inside of they F28388D device, they only connect to the embedded ESC.
If your question is "can I use an ESC to communicate with an ethernet device?" I cannot answer. Here is an article from Beckhoff describing that a switchport is recommended when trying Ethernet over EtherCAT "EoE". https://www.ethercat.org/en/technology.html#1.9.3
Please let me know if you have further questions.
