Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28335

A customer is using TMS320F28335 for OBC(On Board Charger) in HEV(Hybrid and Electric Vehicles) and now they are looking for the safety solution to meet ASIL(ISO 26262) when used F28335. Do we have any documemtations which explicit directions on how to comply with ASIL saftey requirement for TMS320F28335?

Best regards,

ISO 26262 is the automotive functional safety standard which is currently in force since November, 2011.  ISO 26262 requires compliance at vehicle, system/ECU, hardware component, and software component levels.  Compliance requires application of specific development flows and analyses during device design which are not typical for most semiconductor companies, as well as introduction of hardware and software boot time and real-time diagnostics to the device.  All compliance evidence must be detailed and made available for audit by customers.

There is no current legal requirement to follow ISO 26262 in US, EU, or Asia

TI has a number of devices being developed to the standard: Safety MCUs, Battery Management, Power Supplies/Supervisors, and Power Drivers.
