TMS320F28379D: Configure ControlCard TMS320F28379D

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSHSECDOCK

Dear TI team,

I have a ControlCard F28379D as shown in "https://www.ti.com/store/ti/en/p/product/?p=TMDSCNCD28379D". I put this controlcard on a socket on my converter.

How should I configure switches on this Controlcard to power it up? The problem now is that whenever I put this ControlCard on my converter, the +5V power supply drops to +2V. I think there mush be some steps to configure it for powering it up.

Noted that this Controlcard works fine with its docking station.

Thanks.

  • Van,

if your controlCARD works normally in a TMDSHSECDOCK docking station then it should be correctly configured. How are you supplying power when using the TMDSHSECDOCK, is that different from what your converter is doing?

If this "converter" that you are connecting the controlCARD to is your own design then I would start by:

    1. Check your schematic and ensure your power and ground pins are correct.
    2. Make sure that your converter doesn't have any solder bridges on the HSEC8 connectors.
    3. Ensure that your 5V power supply has enough current capacity to drive the controlCARD.

    Regards,
    Cody

  • The power supply on my board is unstable. I have to use an external +5V Power Supply for the control card and it works okay.
